email help You have choices with your Got WWW email account. You can either use webmail through our server, or you can set up the email program on your computer. We also offer more robust email systems with additional features through Google Apps. We recommend webmail for when you do not have access to the main computer you use at your office. We do not recommend that you use this feature in place of downloading your email to your computer. You probably have Outlook or Outlook Express on your computer or there are several free email clients available for download from the internet. Since most email programs use a similar procedure for setting up and email client, we will use Outlook as an example here. Outlook E-mail Setup NOTE: Setting up your email program on your computer is your responsibility. Got WWW is not responsible for creating or supporting your email program on your computer. The following information is provided as a courtesy only. 1. Open up your Outlook product. 2. On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
3. Select Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next. 4. For "Server Type" select POP3. Click Next. ![]() 5. For "Internet Email Settings (POP3)" input the information as follows: (use the image below as a guide.) ![]() Enter your name. Enter your e-mail address. Incoming mail (POP3) server enter mail.gotwww.net Outgoing (SMTP) mail server enter mail.gotwww.net. Enter your password, must match the password on your emailed confirmation from Got WWW. Check Remember Password. 6. Click on More Settings ... Click on the "Outgoing Server" tab. Check the box next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Make sure the check box next to "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is also checked. (use the image below as a guide.)
Click on "OK" You should see the program sending and then receiving a test message. If the test does not send the first time, please click it a second time. If the test does not pass the second time, please see the 'tips' below. If the test passes... 8. Click Next, then Click Finish. Verify you did not select the Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) check box. Verify that all server and address entries are typed in lowercase letters. You have the option of having Outlook remember your password by typing it in the Password box and selecting the Remember password check box. While this means that you won't have to type in your password each time you access the account, it also means that the account is vulnerable to anyone who has access to your computer. Be sure your computer is connected to your network.
If there is missing or incorrect information, such as your password, you will be prompted to supply or correct it. Be sure your computer is connected to the Internet. If you can receive mail but not send mail please see this page. If you want to configure additional settings, such as how you want your computer to connect to your e-mail server, click More Settings. If you need to leave mail on the server (so that you can check it from more than one location) you can use these settings. The longer you leave mail on the server the fuller your mailbox will become. This allows you to check mail from more than one computer or remotely using webmail, etc.
To remove an e-mail account Select View or change existing e-mail accounts, and then click Next. Click the e-mail account you want to delete, and then click Remove. Click Finish. Please contact us if you need further assistance.
